How Andrey Melnichenko and EuroChem are helping to create an engineering education system in Russian regions
The Andrey Melnichenko Charitable Foundation is a private foundation for infrastructure educational projects in the natural sciences, its mission is to create an environment for the development of talents in Russian regions. In 2017-2019, within the framework of the Fund's key program for supporting gifted schoolchildren in the regions where EuroChem, SUEK and SGK are present, nine centers of children's scientific and engineering creativity were opened in the Stavropol and Altai regions, in Kuzbass and the Tula region. "Constellation" in Novomoskovsk
On Children's Day in 2020, the first stone in the creation of the new Sozvezdiye Support Center for Gifted Children in Novomoskovsk was solemnly laid by the Governor of the Tula Region Alexei Dyumin and the CEO of EuroChem Igor Nechaev. The Olympus full-time lyceum, a year-round campus for 200 high school students, the Academy of Achievements educational center, an athletics stadium, a universal gym and a swimming pool, and a medical center will appear here. Education and accommodation for the pupils of the Center "Constellation" will be completely free.
"Constellation" will specialize in the exact sciences: chemistry, physics, mathematics and information technology, since more than a hundred enterprises operate in Novomoskovsk, this is the industrial center of the region. The implementation of a joint project with the government of the Tula region and Andrey Melnichenko's charitable foundation will allow Novomoskovsk to become an important educational center on the map of Russia. "Quantoriums" for the Leningrad Region
At the end of last summer, the foundation stone was laid for the beginning of the construction of Quantorium and an educational center for gifted children in Kingisepp, Leningrad Region, where new EuroChem plants are also being created. The children's technopark, located on an area of thousands of square meters, will be able to train 800 schoolchildren a year. The cost of the project is 101 million rubles.
In the Leningrad Region, 2 such children's technoparks are already operating - in Vsevolozhsk and in Kirovsk, as well as a mobile complex. In 2021, "Quantorium" should start working in Sosnovy Bor, in 2023 - in Gatchina, in 2024 - in Vyborg.
"Youth Returns to Nevinnomyssk"
Last year, on the Day of Knowledge in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Territory, a children's technopark "Quantorium" was opened, designed to educate 800 children a year. Here, schoolchildren will be able to master six areas of science, including robotics, biotechnology and programming.
"Unicum" for Berezniki
And finally, also in 2020, a solemn ceremony of laying the first stone in the foundation of the Unicum Lyceum took place in the city of Berezniki, Perm Territory. The Children's Technopark Lyceum "Unicum" is a joint project of the Perm Territory Administration, EuroChem and the Andrey Melnichenko Foundation. The completion of the construction of the lyceum is scheduled for 2022, 700 million rubles will be spent on the development of this project.
