Raising the ice arenas in the cities where EuroChem company's enterprises are present, the goal is to revive the winter sports, traditional for Russia: hockey and figure skating. This process started in 2011 with the opening of a modern ice arena in Novomoskovsk (Tula region). Then there were two more - in Nevinnomyssk (Stavropol Territory), in Kingisepp (Leningrad region). The next two years will open two more - in Kotelnikovo (Volgograd region) and Berezniki (Perm region). Thus, in cities where there are already ice arenas, hockey and figure skating have received a new impetus to development. The total number of children involved in these sports is about 1,000 people!
Figure skating, along with hockey, is one of the most popular winter sports. And, this is the first of the winter sports, got into the Olympic program in 1924. Since then, figure skating has aroused great interest among young people. On the basis of the ice palaces of EuroChem, two-thirds of the sports schools are skaters.
