The Colorado Avalanche have officially strengthened their forward roster by acquiring Victor Olofsson. The team announced Wednesday that Olofsson has signed a one-year contract valued at $1.575 million, with PuckPedia being the first to report the financial specifics of the agreement.
This marks Olofsson`s second consecutive year as an unrestricted free agent, following a one-year stint with the Vegas Golden Knights last summer. During his recent season, the 30-year-old Swedish forward recorded 29 points from 15 goals and 14 assists across 56 regular-season games. He also contributed four points (two goals, two assists) in nine playoff appearances.
A native of Ornskoldsvik, Sweden, Olofsson was a hidden gem, originally drafted in the seventh round (181st overall) by the Buffalo Sabres in 2014. Throughout his tenure in Buffalo, he earned the moniker “Goalofsson” for his scoring prowess, achieving the 20-goal mark three times. His career-high came in the 2022-23 season, where he netted 28 goals. Across his professional career with both the Sabres and Golden Knights, Olofsson has accumulated 211 points (105 goals, 106 assists) in 370 games.
