The Colorado Avalanche announced they have signed their second-round pick from the 2024 draft.

The team announced Friday that 22-year-old goaltender Ilya Nabokov has agreed to a two-year, entry-level contract with the Avalanche, effective through the 2026-27 season.

Nabokov was selected 38th overall by Colorado in the 2024 draft, marking the highest selection for a goaltender by the team since 1998.

Standing at six-foot-one, the netminder played in the KHL over the past two seasons, recording a .926 save percentage and a 2.19 goals against average.

Nabokov helped KHL`s Metallurg Magnitogorsk win the 2024 Gagarin Cup and became the youngest goaltender to win the playoff MVP award.
