The Dallas Stars achieved something no other team had done in the last three decades by reaching three consecutive conference finals. However, they failed to win the Stanley Cup during this run. They didn`t even manage to reach the final series.
“Three years in a row now, we get this close and fall short… obviously, it`s not a good feeling,” said Jamie Benn, the nearly 36-year-old captain who is set to become an unrestricted free agent after 16 seasons in Dallas.
For the third straight season, and the second time against Edmonton, the Stars ended their run with a loss in the Western Conference Final. On Thursday night, they lost Game 5 at home with a score of 6-3.
