Daemon Hunt will remain in Ohio. The Columbus Blue Jackets announced on Friday that they have secured defenseman Daemon Hunt with a one-year, two-way contract, ensuring his continued presence with the team.

The 23-year-old blue-liner, who joined the Blue Jackets from the Minnesota Wild in November 2024, recorded 14 points (two goals, 12 assists) in 48 appearances for the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus`s AHL affiliate.

Originally a 65th overall pick by the Wild in the 2020 draft, Hunt has accumulated 59 points in 173 career American Hockey League (AHL) games. He has also played in 13 National Hockey League (NHL) games, registering one assist.
