Veteran forward Milan Lucic is set to make a potential return to the National Hockey League, having signed a professional tryout (PTO) agreement with the St. Louis Blues.
The Blues officially announced on Tuesday that the 37-year-old winger had inked the PTO deal.
Lucic`s last NHL appearance was in the 2023-24 season, playing four games with the Boston Bruins before taking an indefinite leave and subsequently entering the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program. The St. Louis organization confirmed that Lucic has successfully completed the program and has been reinstated by the league.
In February 2024, prosecutors dropped a domestic violence charge against Lucic, which stemmed from an arrest in November 2023 on suspicion of assault and battery of a family member.
Throughout his extensive career, Lucic has accumulated 233 goals and 353 assists for a total of 586 points across 1,177 games. He has played for the Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Los Angeles Kings.
A highlight of Lucic`s career includes winning the prestigious Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins in 2011.
