Bob Hartley Appointed Lokomotiv Head Coach

Lokomotiv Yaroslavl has officially announced the appointment of Bob Hartley as the team`s new head coach.

Previously, reports indicated that the 64-year-old Canadian specialist had reached an agreement to sign a contract with the Yaroslavl club. Jacques Cloutier and Sergei Zvyagin are also expected to join his coaching staff at Lokomotiv.

A statement from the team conveyed: “Bob Hartley is undoubtedly a coach who can foster further progress for our team. We are delighted to welcome the coach to Yaroslavl and aim to achieve significant success together with Lokomotiv!”

Igor Nikitin had served as Lokomotiv`s head coach since 2021. He previously departed the club and moved to CSKA Moscow.

Hartley`s extensive career includes previous KHL experience with Avangard Omsk, whom he led to the Gagarin Cup championship in 2021. He also famously won the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 2001.
