Canadiens Sign Defenceman William Trudeau to One-Year, Two-Way Deal

The Montreal Canadiens organization announced on Thursday that they have come to terms with defenceman William Trudeau on a one-year, two-way contract agreement.

Trudeau, a 22-year-old blueliner, was originally drafted by Montreal in the fourth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. During the past season, he played 68 games for the Canadiens` American Hockey League affiliate, the Laval Rocket, where he recorded five goals and added 14 assists.

Over his three seasons playing for Laval, the left-handed shot defenceman has accumulated a total of 70 points, scoring 20 goals and contributing 50 assists across 198 games played.
