Forward Conor Garland is set to remain with the Vancouver Canucks for the long term.
The club confirmed on Tuesday that Garland has agreed to a six-year extension worth an average of $6 million annually.
“Conor is a vital part of our team and has taken on a more significant role over the last few seasons,” stated Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin in a team news release.
Allvin added, “His signing demonstrates his belief in our organization`s vision and path forward. He brings intense competition daily, drives the play, is relentless on the forecheck, and is a difficult opponent. Garland is developing into a leader and works diligently to maintain accountability among himself and his teammates.”
