The Chicago Blackhawks have secured one of their most promising young talents. The team announced on Thursday that they have officially signed Anton Frondell to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Frondell was the Blackhawks` third overall selection in this year`s NHL Draft. The 18-year-old forward previously played for Djurgårdens IF in Sweden from 2023 to 2025. During his 38 regular-season games, he accumulated 26 points, consisting of 11 goals and 15 assists.
In the 2024-25 season, Frondell was named HockeyAllsvenskan`s Rookie of the Year and played a key role in guiding his team to the HockeyAllsvenskan Championships. There, he registered seven points (five goals, two assists) in 16 playoff games.
The 198-pound forward also earned a silver medal for Sweden at the 2025 World Under-18 Championship, contributing three points across five games.
