The internet-famous and often controversial brothers known as ‘The Island Boys’ are slated to fight each other in the main event of a boxing event scheduled for later this month in Miami. This unexpected matchup follows the recent fighting debut of one member of the duo, Kodiyakredd, in a bout that notably resulted in UFC President Dana White winning $10,000 on a bet.
Despite often being labeled as some of the most disliked figures online, exceeding the notoriety of fellow internet celebrities who have ventured into boxing such as Jake Paul or KSI, the inseparable twins are now set to face off in the ring. The upcoming show is being promoted by streamer Adin Ross from his Miami warehouse and is expected to be an exclusive, invite-only event drawing various celebrities.
Island Boys Set to Clash in Sibling Showdown
On May 16, the two brothers, Kodiyakredd and Flyysoulja, will put aside their familial bond to compete in a boxing match under the Brand Risk Promotions banner. The dynamic and often turbulent relationship between the siblings has been a point of fascination and controversy online since they rose to prominence in 2021.
Adin Ross officially announced the fight as the headliner for his upcoming event in Miami, set to take place in two weeks. The entire card will be broadcast for free on Ross’ Kick streaming platform, likely attracting a massive online audience.
Explaining the main event change during his stream, Ross mentioned that the original plan was for one of the Island Boys to fight Charleston White. However, White became unavailable, leading to the brothers agreeing to fight each other. Ross quoted, “Charleston White cannot fight the Island Boy. He’s going to come on stream and talk about it.” Regarding the unique sibling fight, Ross added,
“So we got the Island Boys are going to fight each other and I don’t know how that’s going to go. Supposedly they have some s— going on so I don’t know what the f— that’s going to be.”
The rest of the fight card is reported to include Adam Saleh taking on Tik Tok personality Pully Arif, and Gabriel Silva, son of MMA legend Anderson Silva, participating in a rematch against OJ Rose following their initial meeting in 2023 under the Misfits Boxing promotion.
Dana White`s Winning Wager on Kodiyakredd`s Debut
Dana White attended last month’s Brand Risk Promotions event in Miami, accepting an invitation from Adin Ross. White provided live commentary throughout the evening, during which he made a bet with Ross that streamer ‘Oblivion’ would defeat Kodiyakredd of the Island Boys.
White’s prediction proved accurate. From the opening bell, Oblivion’s superior boxing training was evident. White immediately offered to bet Ross on the outcome, and the pair quickly agreed to a $10,000 wager, a decision that soon seemed unfavorable for the streamer.
Within the first minute of the fight, Oblivion scored a standing eight count, with the referee being cautious to prevent significant damage to either fighter. After Kodiyakredd absorbed another clean combination that included a flush uppercut, the referee stopped the contest just seconds before the round concluded.
Following the stoppage, Kodiyakredd insisted he would have won with more training. Subsequently, his brother entered the ring and called out Kodiyakredd`s opponent, although this challenge has apparently evolved into the highly anticipated brother-versus-brother clash.
