The Anaheim Ducks have finalized a new two-year contract agreement with goaltender Ville Husso, as confirmed by the team on Sunday.
Husso, currently 30 years old, initially joined the Ducks organization in February via a trade with the Detroit Red Wings for future considerations. During his limited four games played for Anaheim, he posted a record of 1-1-1, achieving a 2.99 goals-against average (GAA) and a .925 save percentage (SV%).
Across his combined 13 appearances for both the Red Wings and the Ducks this season, his overall record was 2-6-3.
The Finnish netminder, originally from Helsinki, holds a career NHL record of 71-46-19 through 145 games played for the St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings, and Anaheim Ducks. His career stats include seven shutouts, a 3.05 GAA, and a .901 SV%.
Husso was initially drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Notably, he was part of the Finnish team that secured a gold medal at the 2014 World Junior Championship.
