
The Calgary Flames are nearing an agreement to extend a player they acquired via trade last season. Center Morgan Frost is reportedly set to sign a two-year contract extension with the team.
According to Sportsnet`s Elliotte Friedman, the deal is valued at $8.75 million in total, carrying an average annual value (AAV) of $4.375 million.
Calgary acquired Frost from the Philadelphia Flyers in a trade partway through the season.
The 26-year-old forward completed the season having accumulated 37 points, consisting of 14 goals and 23 assists. Of these, 12 points (three goals and nine assists) were recorded after joining Calgary.
Originally drafted 27th overall by Philadelphia in 2017, the native of Aurora, Ontario, has played six NHL seasons. Across 310 career games, Frost has totaled 147 points, scoring 53 goals and adding 94 assists.
