The Florida Panthers have finalized a new one-year contract with forward Mackie Samoskevich. The agreement was announced on Thursday.

As a restricted free agent, Samoskevich completed his inaugural full NHL season in 2024-25, participating in 72 contests and accumulating 31 points from 15 goals and 16 assists.

During the playoffs, where the Panthers clinched their second consecutive Stanley Cup championship, he added one assist in four appearances.

“Mackie is a gifted young player who showcased skill and maturity beyond his years in his first full season,” commented Panthers President and General Manager Bill Zito in a released statement. “He proved capable of fitting into various roles in our lineup and finding success, which speaks volumes about his game and character. We are excited to see him continue to develop within our organization.”

Florida originally selected Samoskevich 24th overall in the first round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

The 22-year-old forward, hailing from Newtown, Connecticut, played two collegiate seasons at the University of Michigan before turning pro with the Panthers.

He first appeared in the NHL during the 2023-24 campaign, playing seven games for Florida without recording any points.
