
The Montreal Canadiens organization has officially secured goaltender Jakub Dobes with a two-year contract extension.
The terms of the agreement will see Dobes earn an average annual value (AAV) of $965,000, bringing the total value of the contract to $1.93 million over its duration. This deal represents a re-signing for the 24-year-old netminder.
Dobes was originally selected by the Canadiens in the fifth round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
He recently completed his first season playing in the National Hockey League, where he made a positive impression. In 16 games, Dobes posted a .909 save percentage and a 2.74 goals-against average, finishing with a record of 7 wins, 4 losses, and 3 overtime losses. He also featured in three playoff appearances for Montreal, recording an .891 save percentage and a 2.91 GAA during the post-season.
Throughout his American Hockey League career, Dobes has appeared in a total of 65 games, maintaining a .906 save percentage and a 2.82 goals-against average.
