Gustav Nyquist has found a new home in the NHL.
The veteran forward, who has played 13 seasons in the league, is set to sign with the Winnipeg Jets. The team officially announced the agreement, a one-year contract valued at $3.25 million.
Last season, the 35-year-old Nyquist recorded 28 points, including 11 goals and 17 assists, over 79 games. His playing time was split between two teams: the Nashville Predators and the Minnesota Wild.
This move comes one year after Nyquist achieved a career-best offensive performance. During the 2023-24 season with the Predators, he posted an impressive 75 points.
Nyquist`s NHL career began after being drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the fourth round in 2008. He spent his initial eight seasons in Detroit. Since then, he has also played for the San Jose Sharks (joining in 2019), the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Wild, and the Predators before signing with Winnipeg.
