CSKA head coach Igor Nikitin has commented on his readiness for potential negative reactions from fans of his former club, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, following his departure to take on his current role.
Nikitin was quoted speaking about the move:
“I have already experienced quite a bit of both positive and negative reactions. God is our judge; I made this decision, and I am responsible for it. I believe that our work in Yaroslavl earned us the right to make a choice. For four years, we worked completely honestly and wholeheartedly, so you cannot fault us for that.”
According to the article, in the past season, Nikitin, together with the Yaroslavl team, won the Gagarin Cup for the second time in his career. He had led Lokomotiv since 2021.
