The Winnipeg Jets have successfully avoided arbitration by reaching an agreement with forward Morgan Barron.
The club officially announced on Monday that Barron has been re-signed to a two-year contract valued at $3.7 million.
During the recent regular season, Barron participated in 74 games for the Jets, tallying 15 points from eight goals and seven assists. He also contributed two assists over 13 playoff appearances.
The 26-year-old player, originally from Halifax, was initially drafted by the New York Rangers in 2017 during the sixth round, 174th overall.
Barron joined the Jets organization in March 2022 as part of the transaction that sent Andrew Copp to New York.
Throughout his five-season NHL career with both the Rangers and the Jets, Barron has accumulated a total of 60 points (30 goals and 30 assists) across 256 games played.
