The Montreal Canadiens are preparing for their annual rookie camp, where several top prospects will gather as the team continues its rebuilding efforts.

Key figures expected at the camp include forward Ivan Demidov, defenseman David Reinbacher, and goaltender Jacob Fowler. The team confirmed Monday that the camp is scheduled from September 10-16, spanning locations in Montreal and Brossard, Quebec.

A total of 26 players will participate in the rookie camp, engaging in on-ice practices. They will also face off against prospects from the Winnipeg Jets on September 13 and the Toronto Maple Leafs on September 14 in anticipated exhibition games.

The roster comprises 15 forwards, eight defensemen, and three goaltenders. While Alexander Zharkovsky, the Canadiens` top pick in the 2025 draft, will not be present, five other players drafted by the team in June are confirmed attendees.

Bolstered by an abundance of youthful talent, the Canadiens demonstrated significant progress in their rebuild last season. They secured a playoff berth with a 40-31-11 record, placing fifth in the Atlantic Division.

Despite a first-round exit, losing to the Washington Capitals in five games, the playoff inclusion of 19-year-old Demidov offered a glimpse into the Canadiens` promising future. He contributed two assists across five playoff appearances.

David Reinbacher, the Canadiens` fifth-overall selection in the 2023 draft, had a challenging last season. The Austrian defenseman spent much of it with AHL Laval recovering from knee surgery, ultimately tallying two goals and three assists in 10 games.

Jacob Fowler, considered the Canadiens` leading goaltending prospect, primarily played with Boston College in the NCAA last season. He later joined Laval for the conclusion of their regular season and subsequent playoff run, recording a 2.48 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage over eight AHL post-season games.
