As the Tampa Bay Lightning`s off-season progresses, the team continues its efforts to refine its roster composition.
The most recent personnel change occurred on Sunday with the announcement that the team has signed forward Jack Finley to a new three-year contract. The deal carries an average annual value (AAV) of $775,000.
The 22-year-old player will have a two-way contract for the initial 2025-26 season. Following that, the agreement transitions to a one-way contract for the subsequent two years.
Finley spent the previous season competing for the AHL`s Syracuse Crunch. During his 40 appearances, he achieved a personal best with 14 goals. His total of 28 points ranked him sixth on the team. Additionally, he recorded career high statistics in plus-minus (+11) and scored two game-winning goals.
Throughout his AHL career, Finley has played 161 games, exclusively with the Crunch, accumulating a total of 81 points from 39 goals and 42 assists.
Finley, who was originally selected 57th overall by Tampa Bay in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, made his National Hockey League debut for the Lightning earlier in the current year. In his first NHL game on January 14, 2025, a loss against the Boston Bruins, he registered a plus-1 rating across 8 minutes and 25 seconds of ice time.
