TORONTO — The summer break might be approaching, but General Manager Brad Treliving still has significant work ahead and can`t fully relax just yet.
The initial phase of the Toronto Maple Leafs` offseason, their first since the departure of the “Core Four” era, has shown glimmers of potential but hasn`t been entirely satisfactory.
It`s challenging to argue convincingly that the team, which finished atop the Atlantic Division in the 2024-25 season, has improved purely based on the current roster.
However, the situation isn`t static.
There is still available salary cap space, opportunities for trades exist, and several months remain before the start of the season in October, let alone March.
Let`s take a look at the current state of the 2025-26 Maple Leafs roster and identify the key items that still need to be addressed on Treliving`s list.
