William Nylander has returned home to participate in the men`s world hockey championships.
On Wednesday morning, Team Sweden announced that the Toronto Maple Leafs superstar will join the team in Stockholm ahead of the quarterfinals.
Sweden finished second in Group A after a loss to Canada on Tuesday. They will face Czechia in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
The 29-year-old Nylander is coming off his third consecutive 40+ goal season, having scored a career-high 45 goals this season. He led the Maple Leafs in scoring during the playoffs with 15 points in 13 games.
