Mike Perry vs. Nate Diaz Event More Exciting Than UFC Freedom 250, Claims Former BKFC Challenger

Mike Perry is set to return to mixed martial arts with Netflix entering the MMA landscape. This upcoming bout against Nate Diaz has sparked considerable discussion among Perry’s peers in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). Doug Coltrane, a former BKFC title contender, shared his perspective on this notable contest during a recent interview on *Bare Knuckle Bowker*. His comments came shortly after his first-round victory over former UFC fighter Maki Pitolo at BKFC Honolulu on April 11th.

Prior to his own BKFC middleweight title fight against David Mundell, Coltrane had expressed interest in a potential matchup with Mike Perry. Upon hearing about Perry’s upcoming clash with Nate Diaz on the new Netflix MMA card, Coltrane offered his views on the fight itself.

“Personally, I don’t have a strong personal stake in the fight,” Coltrane stated. “I think it’s a good matchup for both individuals, and they’ll both earn well. However, speaking for myself, everyone loves Nate Diaz, and I’m a big fan. He’ll always be one of my favorites. But at some point, you don’t want to see your favorites continue to take damage. Still, I have immense respect for both of them.”

Expanding on his thoughts about the Mike Perry vs. Nate Diaz fight and comparing the Netflix event to the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 card scheduled for June, Coltrane elaborated:

“I will definitely be watching that fight. Honestly, I’m more anticipating the Netflix card than the UFC ‘White House’ card. While there are certainly fights on the UFC card that we’re interested in, if I’m being candid, I’m currently finding the Netflix lineup a bit more appealing.”

Mike Perry vs. Nate Diaz Event More Compelling Than UFC Freedom 250, According to Ex-BKFC Title Challenger

Mike Perry’s return to mixed martial arts coincides with Netflix’s venture into the sport, and one of his BKFC colleagues is actively discussing the impending Nate Diaz fight. The individual in question is Doug Coltrane, who voiced these opinions during a recent appearance on *Bare Knuckle Bowker*. This sentiment was shared as Coltrane prepared for his first-round finish over former UFC competitor Maki Pitolo at BKFC Honolulu on April 11th.

Around the time he was vying for the BKFC middleweight title against David Mundell, Coltrane had called out Mike Perry, envisioning it as his ideal next step. Regarding the announcement of Perry’s significant clash with Nate Diaz on the Netflix MMA card, Coltrane commented:

“Personally, man, I don’t really have a strong feeling about the fight itself. I think it’s a good fight for both guys, and they’ll both make good money. But for me personally, Nate Diaz – everyone loves Nate, man. I love Nate. He’s always going to be one of my favorites, for sure. You know what I mean? But at some point, you don’t want to see your favorites keep going out there and taking damage. But big, big props to those guys.”

Further elaborating on his perspective of the Mike Perry vs. Nate Diaz matchup and contrasting the overall Netflix MMA offering with the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 card, Coltrane added:

“I’ll definitely tune into the fight. I think I’m more excited about that card than I am about the [UFC] White House card, if I’m being honest. I mean, there are a couple of fights on the White House card that we obviously want to see, but if I’m being honest, you know what I mean? I’m liking the Netflix card a little better at the moment.”
