The Montreal Canadiens organization announced Saturday that they have secured the services of forward Vinzenz Rohrer by signing him to a three-year, entry-level contract.
The 20-year-old Austrian player recently completed two seasons competing for the Zurich Lions in Switzerland`s top hockey league, the National League.
During his second year with the Lions, Rohrer recorded 25 points (consisting of 15 goals and 10 assists) over 52 games. He further contributed with seven points (one goal, six assists) across 16 playoff matches, playing a part in the Lions winning their second straight league championship.
Rohrer also participated in the recent world hockey championship, representing Austria, where he accumulated six points (four goals, two assists) in eight contests. Austria`s tournament concluded in the quarterfinals after being defeated by Switzerland, who went on to finish as runners-up.
Prior to his time with Zurich, Rohrer spent two seasons (from 2021 to 2023) with the Ottawa 67`s in the Ontario Hockey League, achieving a total of 97 points (44 goals and 53 assists) over 118 games.
The Montreal organization, often referred to as the Habs, originally drafted Rohrer in the third round, 75th overall, during the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
