Following a season where they showed improvement and reached the playoffs for the first time since 2021, the Montreal Canadiens are now focused on enhancing their roster. While there isn`t a single area of exclusive focus for the Canadiens this off-season, a key objective is to strengthen their top-six forward group, according to insights from Sportsnet`s Elliotte Friedman.
“I`ve heard a little bit about upgrading it forward, too… I think some of that focus could be on, you know, who do they envision playing with Demidov for a while?” Friedman remarked during Tuesday`s episode of the “32 Thoughts: The Podcast.” He further speculated, “Is there somebody out there that they would look at and say, those are two people that could grow together a little bit?”
Ivan Demidov`s earlier-than-expected move to North America generated considerable excitement and provided the Canadiens organization with an early look at his capabilities. The team is now seemingly exploring options to find a suitable forward to complement his developing talent in their offensive core.
