Oilers’ Connor Brown Available for Stanley Cup Final Game 1

The Edmonton Oilers are anticipated to be at full strength as they prepare for their return to the Stanley Cup Final.

Forward Connor Brown is projected to be “fine” and ready to participate in Game 1 of the Final. He had been absent from the final two contests of the Western Conference Final due to an injury that was not publicly disclosed. Head coach Kris Knoblauch provided the update to reporters on Sunday.

The 31-year-old player was on the ice for Sunday`s practice session. He wore a grey warm-up jersey and skated on the team`s additional fifth line.

“I`m pretty sure and confident that he`ll be fine for Game 1,” coach Knoblauch stated.

Brown exited Game 3 of the series against the Stars after suffering the injury following a hit delivered by Dallas defenseman Alexander Petrovic.

The winger had reportedly been dealing with some physical issues even prior to this specific injury. He was listed as a game-time decision ahead of Game 1 and missed the morning skate before Game 2.

During the regular season, Brown accumulated 30 points, consisting of 13 goals and 17 assists, over 82 games. In the playoffs, he has added 8 points (five goals and three assists) for the Edmonton club.

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final is scheduled to commence on June 4th.
