Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch announced that forward Zach Hyman is expected to rejoin the team in early November, following his recovery from a wrist injury. This anticipated return will not only bolster the team`s roster but also allow other players to step into more prominent roles in his absence.
Hyman had previously informed reporters that he wouldn`t be ready for the start of the regular season, but emphasized that his rehabilitation was progressing exceptionally well. The 33-year-old winger underwent surgery to address a fractured wrist and damaged ligaments, injuries sustained during the postseason.
The incident occurred in Game 4 of the Western Conference Final against the Dallas Stars. Hyman was hit by Mason Marchment in the neutral zone while attempting to clear the puck from his defensive zone. He immediately dropped his stick and headed to the locker room, visibly holding his right arm.
Last season, his fifth with the Oilers, Hyman participated in 73 games, contributing with 27 goals and 44 points, including seven game-winning goals.
