The Ottawa Senators have fortified their forward depth by officially re-signing Jan Jenik to a one-year, two-way contract. This agreement ensures the Czech forward will remain with the organization for the upcoming 2025-26 season, as confirmed by the team on Monday.
Jenik, now 24 years old, initially joined the Senators organization last season. His acquisition came via a trade with the Utah Mammoth, in exchange for forward Egor Sokolov. During his tenure, Jenik made a brief appearance at the NHL level, playing in two games where he did not register any points.
The majority of Jenik`s 2024-25 campaign was spent with the Belleville Senators, Ottawa`s American Hockey League affiliate. Over 52 games with Belleville, he proved to be a significant contributor, tallying 12 goals and 17 assists for a total of 29 points.
Originally a third-round selection (65th overall) by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2018 NHL Draft, Jenik`s career NHL statistics currently stand at four goals and two assists, accumulating six points across 24 games.
