Boko Imama is returning to the Pittsburgh Penguins after his 2024-25 season was cut short due to injury.
The Penguins announced Friday that they have extended Imama`s contract, signing him to a one-year deal with an average annual value (AAV) of $775,000.
Imama underwent successful surgery in late March to repair a bicep injury. Pittsburgh initially estimated his recovery time to be between four and six months.
The 28-year-old forward was playing in his fourth NHL season. He recorded one goal and accumulated 30 penalty minutes in 16 games for the Penguins. The Montreal native also appeared in 24 games for their AHL affiliate, tallying five points.
Originally a sixth-round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2015, Imama previously played in the NHL with the Arizona Coyotes and Ottawa Senators before joining the Pittsburgh organization.
