Anthony Mantha`s tenure with the Calgary Flames proved to be brief.
The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Wednesday they have signed the forward to a one-year contract valued at $2.5 million.
According to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, the agreement also includes the potential for an additional $2 million through performance bonuses.
The 30-year-old, who hails from Longueuil, Quebec, joined the Flames last summer on a one-year deal but was limited to just 13 games. His season was cut short in November when he underwent surgery for an ACL injury. Before getting injured, he recorded seven points, consisting of four goals and three assists.
Mantha was originally drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the first round, 20th overall, in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Throughout his 10-season NHL career, he has played 507 games with the Red Wings, Washington Capitals, Vegas Golden Knights, and Flames, accumulating a total of 303 points (146 goals, 157 assists).
