The Pittsburgh Penguins have finalized a contract with one of their promising young prospects.
Ben Kindel, who the team selected 11th overall in the June NHL Draft, has agreed to a three-year entry-level contract, the club announced on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old Kindel is eligible to either play for the Penguins next season or return to his junior team, the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
During the 2024-25 season with the Hitmen, the forward was highly productive, tallying 35 goals and 64 assists for a total of 99 points across 65 games.
Kindel, a native of Coquitlam, British Columbia, also achieved success on the international stage last season, winning two gold medals with Team Canada at the U-18 World Championship and the Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
