The New York Rangers are in the process of assembling their coaching staff under newly appointed head coach Mike Sullivan.
According to a report by Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet on Thursday, Dave Quinn, Joe Sacco, and Ty Hennes are expected to join Sullivan`s staff.
Sullivan recently took the helm for the Rangers after parting ways with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He succeeds Peter Laviolette, who was let go following the team`s failure to make the playoffs.
This marks a return to New York for Quinn, who previously served as the Rangers` head coach for three seasons before his dismissal in 2021. He then coached the San Jose Sharks for three seasons before joining Sullivan as an assistant coach in Pittsburgh last year.
Sacco served as interim head coach for the Boston Bruins after Jim Montgomery was reportedly fired in November, concluding with a record of 25-30-7. He had been part of the Bruins organization since 2014.
Hennes has been associated with Sullivan`s coaching staff in Pittsburgh since 2018, initially working as a skills coach before being promoted to an assistant coach role in 2022.
