Reilly Smith to Re-Sign with Golden Knights

Reilly Smith, a veteran forward and one of the original members of the Vegas Golden Knights expansion team from 2017, is reportedly returning to the club. He is expected to re-sign with the Golden Knights on a one-year contract valued at $2 million, opting not to explore the free agent market.

Smith played for the Golden Knights from their inaugural season in 2017 until 2023, when he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins. After spending one season with the Penguins and then moving to the New York Rangers, the 34-year-old player was brought back to the Golden Knights at the 2025 trade deadline.

During the last season, playing split time between the Rangers and the Golden Knights, Smith appeared in 79 games, scoring 13 goals and totaling 40 points.

Originally from Etobicoke, Ontario, Smith has accumulated an impressive 14-season career in the NHL. Over 919 games played, he has recorded a total of 226 goals and 553 points.

Prior to joining the Golden Knights in 2017, Smith`s NHL journey included periods with the Florida Panthers, Boston Bruins, and Dallas Stars.
