The Buffalo Sabres have successfully finalized a contract with their latest first-round draftee.
Defenseman Radim Mrtka, the ninth overall pick in June`s draft, has officially inked a three-year entry-level contract with the team, as announced Tuesday.
The 18-year-old Mrtka demonstrated his skills last season with the WHL`s Seattle Thunderbirds, tallying 35 points (3 goals, 32 assists) across 43 games.
Standing at six-foot-six, the right-shot blueliner previously honed his skills in Czechia`s Extraliga and represented his country in the U18 World Championship for two consecutive years.
