Sergio Pettis vs. Raufeon Stots Added to June 27 PFL Event

Former Bellator champions Sergio Pettis and Raufeon Stots are set to put their friendship aside when they face each other in the cage. The accomplished bantamweights are scheduled to compete at the PFL event taking place on June 27th at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

This matchup between Pettis and Stots is billed as a special showcase bout. It is positioned to open the main card of the event, which also features pivotal semifinal bouts for the light heavyweight and middleweight tournaments.

Pettis, holding a professional record of 23 wins and 7 losses (23-7), is looking to rebound following a rare two-fight losing streak. His recent defeats came against Kyoji Horiguchi and Patchy Mix. Prior to this skid, Pettis enjoyed significant success as the Bellator bantamweight champion. He successfully defended his title by defeating Juan Archuleta, scoring a memorable knockout against Kyoji Horiguchi, and winning a decision over Patricio Pitbull to prevent `Pitbull` from becoming a three-division champion. He lost the bantamweight belt to Patchy Mix at Bellator 301 and subsequently lost a rematch to Horiguchi at a RIZIN event this past June.

On the other side, Stots (21-2), a former Bellator interim champion, has gotten back on track with two consecutive victories since suffering his own championship loss to Patchy Mix. Stots has secured back-to-back wins over Marcos Breno and his long-time rival, Danny Sabatello.

The PFL event on June 27th is headlined by a middleweight semifinal clash between Fabian Edwards and Josh Silveira. The co-main event will feature light heavyweight competitors Phil Davis and Sullivan Cauley going head-to-head.
