Dillon Danis Not Banned by RAF Despite Brawl with Khamzat Chimaev's Team
Dillon Danis is expected to appear again under the Real American Freestyle (RAF) banner, despite a recent confrontation. During a wrestling match at RAF 10, Danis and Khamzat Chimaev's team were involved in an altercation. The incident began when Danis, from his back, extended his legs towards Chimaev, who responded with a leg kick, leading to a wider brawl involving both entourages.
Danis has a history of instigating fights, both within and outside of competitions. His boxing match against Logan Paul also ended in controversy due to a post-fight brawl, and the incident with Chimaev's team is considered another significant episode.
However, contrary to expectations of a ban, RAF co-founder Chad Bronstein has clarified that Dillon Danis will not be prohibited from future events. Bronstein emphasized that while Danis has had challenging moments that required intervention, he is generally a cooperative individual when the cameras are off. Bronstein stated, "He’s very respectful to everybody in our organization."
Bronstein further explained, "I don’t need to ban Dillon because we stepped in... I work with Dillon, I’ve worked with Dillon behind the scenes a lot. So has Izzy, and so has our team, and he’s very respectful to everybody in our organization, but we did have to deal with certain things with him."
While acknowledging the need to address such incidents, Bronstein expressed his belief that Danis will eventually return to the RAF stage. "I’m not going to say I’m banning him and that we won’t see him on the stage, because I do think he’ll be back eventually. And, again, for wrestling and everything that he’s done with us, he’s been nothing but respectful in our organization. Now [the brawl] was something we don’t ever want, which he knows, and we’ve had that conversation, but I do think we’ll see Dillon Danis back eventually," he added.
Danis has accumulated two losses under the RAF banner so far: a defeat to Chimaev at RAF 10 and a loss to Colby Covington in March.
It remains to be seen when RAF plans to reintegrate Danis into their upcoming events.
