UFC Official Dismisses Topuria's Cheating Claims Against Gaethje
Ilia Topuria accused UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje of cheating during their UFC Freedom 250 bout. Topuria suggested Gaethje had something unusual in his gloves when he won by TKO. This loss marked the first in Topuria's career.
Gaethje denied the accusations. As of now, no evidence supports Topuria's claims of Gaethje or his team acting improperly at UFC Freedom 250.
Andy Foster, an executive with the California State Athletic Commission, addressed Topuria's allegations. Foster stated, "His gloves and wraps were fine and totally within regulations." He added they were "well inspected by multiple inspectors."
Gaethje is expected at UFC 331. Topuria has been medically cleared to fight again, making a rematch a possibility.
