Vitor Belfort, the former UFC light heavyweight champion known as `The Phenom`, shared his reaction following his recent induction into the esteemed UFC Hall of Fame class.
Responding to the announcement, Belfort expressed his surprise, stating, “I had no idea they would announce this today.” He reflected on his motivations throughout his career, emphasizing that seeking recognition was never his primary goal: “Everyone wants recognition today, but when you fight just for that, the most important part is lost — the love for your work, for the process itself. I never fought for recognition, I fought because I believe in this sport, I gave it everything — inside and outside the cage.” Belfort also commented on the significant growth of mixed martial arts over the years: “I dreamed that this sport would one day be shown on ESPN, and today it is broadcast here.”
