From May 28 to 30, the XII International Scientific and Practical Conference on Sports Medicine named after Andrey Zimin took place at the Sirius Scientific and Technological University. It was organized by the KHL Medical Department and the “My Medical Center” group of companies.
Over the course of three days, sports doctors and leading specialists in sports medicine from across the country shared their experiences and discussed topics such as medical support for events, methods of injury diagnosis and rehabilitation, anti-doping, physiotherapy, and many others. Speaking at the conference were Askhab Gadzhiev, Head of the League`s Medical Department, and Maria Dryagina, Senior Specialist of the department. They presented analytical materials on injuries and illnesses among KHL club players.
Other speakers at the event included Dmitry Dolgushev, General Director of the MMC clinic; Pavel Guzalov, Professor at the Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov; Mikhail Kasatkin, President of the National Association of Kinesio Taping Specialists; Vladislav Kurshev, Chief Physician of the Luzhniki Sports Medicine Clinic; Alena Borisova, Associate Professor at the Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, KSMU, and physician for the Russian women`s national football team; Elena Gavrilova, Head of the Department of Exercise Therapy and Sports Medicine, North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov; Igor Medvedev, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Honored Doctor of Russia, Head of the Department of Ophthalmology, Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University; Evgeny Achkasov, Professor, Head of the Department of Sports Medicine and Medical Rehabilitation, Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University; representatives of RUSADA and others.
