Chico Kwasi etched his name in GLORY history on April 25th at the RTM Stage in Rotterdam, becoming only the second fighter to hold world titles in two weight classes concurrently. The welterweight champion moved up and successfully challenged Donovan Wisse for the middleweight crown in a closely contested bout that was ultimately decided in the final round.
At 28 years old, Kwasi now joins the elite ranks of Alex Pereira as a two-division GLORY champion.
In the co-main event, Tariq ‘Cookie’ Osaro made a strong return to the win column with a decisive victory over his rival Nico ‘Big Sexy’ Horta. Osaro secured the win with a powerful uppercut in the first round that sent Horta to the canvas.
The light heavyweight division saw several promising talents emerge victorious in their ‘proving grounds’ contests. Cem Caceres, Mo Touchassie, Stefan Latescu, Mohammed Hamdi, Luis Tavares, and Albert Ugrincic all claimed wins, positioning themselves for a potential spot in the upcoming COLLISION 9 eight-man grand prix on June 13th, which will determine the vacant GLORY light heavyweight world champion.
On the main card, Nabil Khachab secured a narrow decision win against veteran Errol Koning, while Mohammed Boutasaa made a notable promotional debut with an impressive victory over Cedric Do.
The GLORY 107 superfight series also delivered exciting matchups. Top heavyweight Rade Opacic returned to winning ways with a unanimous decision against Colin George. Deniz Demirkapu continued his streak of entertaining performances with a stoppage win over Mohamed Hamami. Additionally, Italian prospect Michael Samperi made a spectacular GLORY debut, scoring a potential knockout of the year contender.
