Chris Billam-Smith Forces Ryan Rozicki’s Retirement with Seventh-Round Stoppage at Zuffa Boxing 7

Chris Billam-Smith was the standout performer at Zuffa Boxing 7, delivering a dominant display that prompted his opponent, Ryan Rozicki, to retire following the seventh round.

Rozicki began the fight aggressively, pressuring Billam-Smith and landing a variety of punches. However, late in the first round, Billam-Smith landed a significant right hand that opened a cut above Rozicki’s left eye. Despite the injury, Rozicki’s persistent pressure earned him the first round on the scorecards.

In the second round, Rozicki continued to be effective, but a point deduction for repeated headbutting altered the momentum. The tide truly turned in the third round when Billam-Smith rocked Rozicki with a powerful uppercut, leaving the Canadian visibly shaken. While Rozicki managed to survive the round and put in a strong performance in the fourth, the fifth round was dominated by Billam-Smith.

Billam-Smith again had Rozicki in trouble in the sixth round and unleashed a flurry of punches, aiming for a definitive finish. Rozicki survived the round, but it was clear a stoppage was approaching.

After enduring significant punishment in the seventh round, Rozicki’s corner had seen enough. They threw in the towel just before the eighth round began, marking the 22nd professional victory for Billam-Smith.

Official Result: Chris Billam-Smith defeated Ryan Rozicki by TKO (corner stoppage) at 3:00 of Round 7.
