Conor McGregor is “Living, Breathing, and Sleeping in the Gym” Ahead of Max Holloway Rematch

Conor McGregor is reportedly dedicating himself completely to his training camp as he prepares for his return to the octagon after a five-year hiatus. The former two-division champion is slated to headline UFC 329 on July 11th in a highly anticipated rematch against Max Holloway.

McGregor has expressed his commitment to making a significant impact upon his return. He recently shared that he and his team are “living, breathing, and sleeping in the gym,” emphasizing the intensity of their preparation.

Recalling their first encounter in 2013, where McGregor secured a unanimous decision victory despite an ACL tear, he plans to showcase his evolution as a mixed martial artist and defeat Holloway once again. He stated, “The opponent is a man that I’ve beaten before. Our last bout was martial arts mastery by yours truly, so I plan on doing it again. I plan on showing my growth and my improvements in there.”

McGregor’s manager has indicated that “The Notorious” aims to remain active and fight frequently following the Holloway bout.

While many anticipate a striking battle, Holloway is reportedly preparing for all aspects of the fight. Following his recent losses, including the BMF title fight and a decision loss to Charles Oliveira, Holloway appears determined to be exceptionally well-prepared for McGregor, with recent training footage showing him working on his wrestling alongside his striking.

Ilia Topuria Predicts McGregor Victory and Eyes Future Matchup

UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria believes Conor McGregor will emerge victorious against Max Holloway at UFC 329, despite McGregor’s extended layoff. In an interview, Topuria expressed his confidence in McGregor, stating, “I think Conor is going to win.”

Topuria also indicated his interest in facing McGregor himself should the Irishman win and have another fight left on his contract. “If he [McGregor] wins and he has one more fight, we could end up having that fight [Me vs. Conor],” he added.

There is ongoing uncertainty regarding McGregor’s contract status with the UFC. While some reports suggest he has refused to sign a new multi-fight deal and has only two fights remaining before becoming a free agent, others are yet to be confirmed.
