Ilia Topuria, set to headline UFC Freedom 250 on June 14 at the South Lawn of the White House against Justin Gaethje, has declared his intention not just to win, but to captivate the audience. While analysts anticipate a high-octane clash, Topuria has openly stated his aim to deliver an exciting performance for the fans.
He elaborated on this strategy in a recent interview, emphasizing his desire for a striking-focused battle. Topuria asserted that while he possesses the grappling skills to dominate Gaethje, he prefers to engage in a pure striking war to provide maximum entertainment. He drew a parallel to his previous fight against Max Holloway, where he opted for a striking duel over a ground-and-pound victory to ensure an electrifying bout.
Beyond his upcoming title unification bout, Topuria also turned his attention to potential future adversary Arman Tsarukyan, who is serving as the official backup fighter for the Gaethje fight. Despite Tsarukyan’s previous calls for a matchup, Topuria has now expressed a strong interest in facing him. During the same interview, Topuria issued a direct and aggressive challenge to Tsarukyan, vowing to humiliate him and promising to “break his jaw in the first round.” He confidently declared his dominance in the octagon, asserting he is the “king” and can do whatever he wishes to his opponents.
