Kyle Daukaus’s Mind Games with Bo Nickal: Colby Covington Walkout Idea Revealed

Kyle Daukaus, set to face Bo Nickal on June 14, initially contemplated a psychological tactic: walking out with former title contender Colby Covington. The intention was to provoke Nickal, with whom Covington has a public feud. However, Daukaus has since abandoned this strategy.

The planned bout between Daukaus and Nickal at UFC Freedom 250 had a preceding narrative. Earlier rumors suggested a potential fight between Covington and Nickal, with Nickal repeatedly calling out “Chaos” for a showdown. Following the official fight card announcement, Nickal accused Covington of avoiding the matchup.

A rivalry has been simmering between Nickal and Covington since “Chaos” made critical remarks about the former at the RAF 05 press conference. This exchange fueled Nickal’s desire to fight Covington and prove him wrong.

However, the possibility of this fight occurring has diminished, as Covington has reportedly retired from the UFC.

Colby Covington Was Willing to Accompany Kyle Daukaus

“The D’Arce Knight,” Kyle Daukaus, has disclosed that Colby Covington had agreed to walk him out for his fight against Bo Nickal on June 14. The purpose of this was to create a mental distraction for Nickal. Despite Covington’s initial acceptance, Daukaus decided to drop the idea. With Covington’s recent retirement, the prospect of this walkout now seems extremely unlikely.

In a recent interview with Home of Fight, Daukaus shared his thoughts:

“I will come out and say that I actually did message Colby, and I was like, ‘Yo dude, what do you think to walking me out to the fight?’ Just to kinda like, get the fans liking it, get it in Bo’s head. He agreed to it, but I was like uhh maybe I’ll just back off of this a little bit… Now he is retired so it is what it is.”
