Virna Jandiroba Dominates Tabatha Ricci to Maintain Top-5 Ranking at UFC Vegas 115
Following an unsuccessful title challenge, Virna Jandiroba made a strong return to the Octagon, delivering a dominant performance against Tabatha Ricci in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 115.
In the first round, Jandiroba secured her initial takedown in just 40 seconds. Although she couldn't keep Ricci grounded for long, she soon took her opponent down again near the fence, immediately taking her back. Despite Ricci's successful defense, preventing any significant damage or submission attempts, the round clearly belonged to Jandiroba on the scorecards.
The second round commenced with another takedown from Jandiroba, who controlled Ricci from guard in the center of the Octagon. Ricci spent most of the stanza on her back. While she managed to get back to her feet with 70 seconds remaining, she couldn't mount any effective offense before Jandiroba took her down once more just before the bell.
The third round unfolded similarly, although this time Ricci found herself in the top position. However, with two rounds already secured, the Brazilian was unconcerned about spending a brief period on her back. Jandiroba rose with relative ease and promptly resumed her offensive pressure.
As time dwindled, Ricci attempted to intensify her attacks, but it was ultimately too little, too late to alter the fight's outcome.
Official Result: Virna Jandiroba defeated Tabatha Ricci via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).
