Muhammad Mokaev to Face Jorge Calvo at WOW 31 on June 6

Undefeated fighter Muhammad Mokaev is scheduled to compete against Jorge Calvo in the co-main event of WOW 31 on June 6, 2026. The event will take place at the Madrid Arena in Spain, featuring a bantamweight bout.

This marks Mokaev’s return to the ring after withdrawing from a previously scheduled fight against Adriano Moraes on the MVP MMA 1 card, which was set for May 16.

WOW 31 signifies the promotion’s return to the Madrid Arena. The fight card will also include a lightweight title match between Brian Booi Hooi and Umakhan Ibragimov. WOW’s events are available for streaming on UFC Fight Pass, Movistar+, and YouTube.

Mokaev Joins WOW, the Promotion Backed by Ilia Topuria and Cristiano Ronaldo

Muhammad Mokaev boasts an impressive professional record of 15 wins and 0 losses, with one no contest. He achieved a 7-0 record in the UFC’s flyweight division before his release in 2024.

Since leaving the UFC, Mokaev has secured victories, including a submission win over Joevincent So at BRAVE CF 91, a win against Thomas Assis at 971 FC 2, and capturing the inaugural BRAVE CF flyweight title with a knockout victory over Gerard Burns at BRAVE CF 100 in November 2025.

Known as “The Punisher,” Mokaev, who is based in England and hails from Dagestan, began his professional career in 2020. He has an accomplished background in IMMAF, with early career wins including two knockouts and six submissions.

Jorge Calvo, Mokaev’s opponent, comes from Costa Rica with a professional record of 20 wins and 7 losses. He has nine submission victories, including rear-naked chokes and armbars from his earlier fights in Calvo Promotions.

Calvo’s notable wins include a split decision victory over Emilio Cuellar at Lux Fight League 21 in 2022 and a unanimous decision win against Bruno Korea at Titan FC 44. His losses include a TKO defeat to Alessandro Costa at Lux 13 and several decisions at Titan FC.

Ilia Topuria became a principal shareholder in WOW (Way of Warrior FC) in August 2024 with the aim of promoting MMA in Spain. In November 2025, Cristiano Ronaldo became a significant investor, stating that the sport aligns with his core values of discipline and resilience.

The Madrid-based organization, established in 2019, has organized over 30 events. Arturo Guillen, the executive chairman, believes Ronaldo’s involvement will accelerate the promotion’s expansion.

Mokaev is looking to maintain his undefeated streak and potentially secure a return to the UFC. A victory in this upcoming fight will build on the momentum from his BRAVE title win. Calvo will be looking to test his skills on home soil against the highly touted prospect.
