Oleksandr Usyk and Rico Verhoeven Face Off Before Historic Giza Pyramids Bout

Boxing sensation Oleksandr Usyk is set to defend his WBC title against former GLORY kickboxing heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven this Saturday. The highly anticipated fight, dubbed “Glory in Giza,” will take place against the iconic backdrop of the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

The two prominent athletes had their first face-off earlier this week, building anticipation for the May 23rd event.

This unique matchup carries significant title implications. Due to Verhoeven’s current lack of ranking in major boxing organizations, he is only eligible to win the WBC World Heavyweight Title and the Ring Magazine Championship. Should Usyk be defeated, the WBA and IBF titles are expected to be declared vacant.

The entire event will be broadcast live exclusively via DAZN Pay-Per-View.
