Rabindra Dhant from Nepal has made significant progress towards securing a UFC contract, achieving an impressive victory over Kimbert Alintozon at Road to UFC in Macau.
During the first day of Road To UFC Season 5, Dhant showed resilience in the initial round before asserting complete control in the second. After initially weathering Alintozon’s aggressive approach and movement, the Nepalese fighter began to dictate the fight’s tempo through clinch work and physical dominance against the cage.
Once the bout transitioned to the ground, Rabindra Dhant maintained his advantage without allowing his opponent any respite.
The 27-year-old skillfully maneuvered into dominant positions, secured the mount, and unleashed a relentless series of punches, compelling the referee to stop the fight at 4 minutes and 37 seconds of the second round. This win propels Dhant into the bantamweight tournament semifinals and improves his professional record to 10 wins and 1 loss.
This performance was particularly noteworthy given the challenging circumstances leading up to the fight. Rabindra Dhant had spent the majority of his training camp preparing for a different opponent, only for Kimbert Alintozon to step in as a late replacement.
Dhant, already a pioneer for mixed martial arts in Nepal, previously made history as the first fighter from the country to compete in ONE Championship in 2023. He also boasts a notable knockout win against India’s Chungreng Koren at Matrix Fight Night 17.
