Sean Sharaf, a heavyweight fighter in the UFC, achieved a major upset at UFC 331 last month. Early in his bout against Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson, Sharaf secured a knockout. This marked Steveson's first professional MMA defeat.

The result surprised many, as Steveson was heavily favored. Sharaf entered UFC 331 with a 0-2 record in the organization.

Sharaf, a former U.S. Marine, is now experiencing newfound attention after UFC 331. He has mentioned contemplating retirement after the Steveson fight, stating he doesn't aim for a championship title.

On his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan discussed Sharaf's potential retirement plans.

Joe Rogan Discusses Potential Retirement with Sean Sharaf Post-UFC 331 Win

During a recent episode, Rogan addressed Sharaf's thoughts on retiring after his career-defining win at UFC 331.

"If you're considering retiring, then you should absolutely take time to think it over," Rogan told Sharaf. "The decision is entirely yours, based on who you are and where you're at."

"There's no fault in walking away now if that's what you want," Rogan continued. "You have to consider it. A moment that significant requires time to let it sink in before you make a choice."

Prior to joining the UFC in 2024, Sharaf won his initial three professional fights by first-round knockout. Despite his notable performance at UFC 331, Sharaf appears open to concluding his MMA career, and Rogan seems supportive of this prospect.
